Hi! My name is Alevtina (pronounced Olive-Tina). I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself, and formally welcome you to the olive jar. My love of olives (and all savory snacks) goes hand in hand with my love of astrology, and thus we enter the Olive Jar to mingle with the cosmic brine all around us. I’m happy you’re here – and I’m excited to dive in to the celestial waters together.

My approach to astrology is quite… salty. I am an astrologer that is going to keep it real with you, regardless of what the planets are looking like. I do not sugar coat, and prefer to take a realistic approach to chart reading. I love to relish in the good placements, but I will not avoid the “bad” ones. An astrologer’s responsibility is to accurately assess the energetic weather of any given moment, which makes honesty essential. I will not give you the answer you want to hear, but rather, the answer that is being given.

I practice Hellenistic astrology currently, but my love for the stars started at a very young age. I remember being told that I was an Aquarius on my 6th birthday. I was in the car, on the way to the mall with my aunt to attempt to get my ears pierced. She told me that amethyst was the birthstone for Aquarius, which apparently, was the sign associated with early February birthdays. It was the first time I had ever heard the word “Aquarius” before. It immediately felt so perfect to me, and I wore the name proudly, even if I didn’t fully know what it meant.

Being a total nerd from an early age, I became fascinated with Egyptian, Greek, and Roman mythology around the same time. I had a book filled with the gods and goddesses of these ancient civilizations that I poured over every night before bed. I knew that somehow the stars were intertwined with these myths, but I wasn’t quite sure how. I began to look at the stars more and more – buying any National Geographic magazine that had photos of space. Throughout my elementary school years, my affinity with all celestial things continued to bloom.

As I got older, I began to read the horoscope for Aquarius whenever I could. I couldn’t quite understand how astrology worked, but there was something intriguing about it to me. For the majority of my adolescent years, astrology was simply a fun thing to look at that I didn’t understand, and didn’t have time to figure out.

In college, around 2017/2018, I began to notice different cycles in my own life that just seemed too crazy to be coincidental. There were themes that kept coming up again and again, and I didn’t understand why. I began to look more into astrology, not entirely knowing how to decipher all the complicated terminology, but trying to piece together what I could. I began to track the planets over time, beginning with smaller transits from the moon, and began to just observe what was happening to me and around me. I began to understand that something was happening – and my interest was piqued.

I continued following transits and taught myself astrology for the next two years, until 2020 when the COVID-19 Pandemic hit, and I was forced to be alone for several months. I dove fully into astrology, reading books and articles, listening to podcasts, and practicing on myself, my family, and my friends. In 2025 I began the Hellenistic Astrology Course by Chris Brennan, and have been steadily working my way through it. Now, I am ready to put my years of astrological knowledge and data to good use. I’ve been accumulating my skills and I am ready to share them with the world, with you.

All this to say, thank you for being here. Astrology has been so helpful for me, and I am excited to share it with you.
